Educational Field Trips

The majority of facilitators are current or former school educators! We understand the importance of hands-on learning and provide your students with a fun and educational day out of the classroom. Our field trips are designed to be hands-on and education based with rotating center-based activities. We have developed rotating stations that will engage your students of any age from start to finish.

You can add on our Gem Mining Station for an additional $5 per student. Students will get to mine like a prospector to find hidden treasures. During this 30 min session, students will be able to take to the shelter house and use identification cards to sort their findings.

Hours are flexible for your transportation needs. (Typically trips run from 9:30 A.M.-1:00 P.M.)

  • Center Based Learning Activities

  • Hands on learning/experience with animals

  • Zoo keeper talks/presentations

  • Animal Encounters

  • Feed the Animals

  • additional add on gem mining option for $5 per child

  • Shaded/covered picnic area for lunch

  • $10 per child/chaperone (staff is free)

Roaming Safari

Our mobile zoo consist of trained handlers and educators who accompany the animals and provide information about their habitats, behaviors, and conservation status. The animals can vary widely and may include domesticated animals, exotic species, reptiles, birds, small mammals, and insects. The primary goals of FTAAs' mobile zoo is to raise awareness about wildlife conservation, promote education, and foster a sense of wonder and appreciation for the animal kingdom.

Transform your next event into an enchanting realm of discovery, captivating both children and adults with its fascinating array of animals.

Story Time Safari

We offer a story time session on selected days during general admission hours. We feature local teachers and community members to read animal themed stories. After listening to the story, our zoo crew will be presenting on some of our amazing animals. This allows interaction from the audience, all included with general admission!  Contact us for more information and dates.
